Waldorf Manor Has Seen Better Days
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA – The property management company is looking to hire an experienced administrative assistant for an important position helping manage low-income rentals at the Waldorf Manor located at 11190 Mesquite Avenue. Highly trained and certified professionals with computer program experience are required for the job paying $8 hr.
The property has a storied history in Desert Hot Springs as Clark Gable – along with other big name Hollywood illuminati – are rumored to have been been guests at the hotel sometime in the distant past when it was the hotel illuminated a brighter light serving as a desert getaway alternative to the more star-struck hubbub of Palm Springs.
Situated on a hill of the hot water zone, it is easy to imagine days past when the city was less populated with fewer houses. The location offers magnificent views of majestic Mt. San Jacinto, as well as the vista of distant Palm Springs and the Valley floor.
Today the Waldorf has lost much of yesterday’s luster and now exudes a frowsty sense when walking the halls.
The carpeting in the Waldorf’s lobby and hallways has seen better days decades ago and the lobby welcoming guests and occupants is cigarette strewn. A broken door to the elevator landing opens to a broken lamp that has obviously been abandoned on the floor for what appears to be weeks. One ground floor residence is still sandbagged from flooding months ago. That being said, both the pool and spa look to be in great shape.
The management company Solari Enterprises explained that the owner has owned the Waldorf for over a dozen years and that a new manager has just recently been hired, who the new administrative assistant will be working with.
